Football & Chocolate

Needless to say I am pleased. Although my head is still killing me with a tension induced headache. Watched the player awards last night which were somewhat raucous.  Also watched 99 again which brought the usual laughter. No matter how many times Ole put's the ball in the Germans net I laugh.

Also saw this today which cheered me up. Marathon bars making a possible comeback.

We had a whole load of name changes. Jif to Cif, Marathon to snickers, opal fruits to starburst. They were not very popular and people still ignore the names of the packets. Sometimes you have to wonder about rebranding. There was the famous case of BT and its themed tails that they spent millions on that everyone hated and they had to redo. Then the recent olympic debacle.

Of the two I much prefer opal fruits, just saying the name makes my mouth water. Now that is the subliminal power of advertising.

They're Starburst, over here; my daughter loves them. Strange, isn't it, the way they mess around with names? Advertisers love to change things, especially if they think it'll make them some profit. And they're right more often than they're wrong.
